River Unrecht Traisen

In former times the river Unrecht Traisen, situated at the Eisenstrasse, was a brook that had moved forge hammers, thus providing affluence and prosperity for the Upper Traisental (Upper Traisen Valley); today it has turned into an area offering many possibilities for recreation. The Upper Traisen Valley is a region with a maximum of woodland and a minimum of fog within Austria.

The river Unrecht Traisen is a small river with a length of 12km, easily accessible, and offers a variety of fishing possibilities, again and again alternating with weir pools, diversion channels and freely flowing sections. The trout and graylings are growing quickly due to the abundance of food resulting in big fish caught every year. The fish stock in the Unrecht Traisen comprises 90% of brown trout, 8% of rainbow trout, 2% of graylings. For day licenses reservation is absolutely necessary.

For license procedures please refer to special list on certain fishing areas. The fishing tackle permissible is the fly rod with artificial fly.

It is compulsory to have an official fishing- or guest license for Lower Austria.
