The area of Palten begins at the bridge at Pölling above Bärndorf and reaches as far as the mouth of the Strechauerbach, about 2km below Rottenmann.

In the partly remarkable current you will find brown trout, rainbow trout and many graylings.

An increasing number of pikes is coming from the „Gaishorn“lakes. Wading trousers and fly rod with artificial fly are admissible from March 16th to December 31st as well as spinner rod with artificial bait on single hook from May 1st to September 15th.

It is compulsory to have an official fishing- or guest license for Styria.
