River Leitha

The river Leitha is a quickly flowing low-land river rich in oxygen, coming down in the Rax/Schneeberg region.

It is accompanied by a stretch of residual flow running in parallel. The dominant fish is the barbel, however, brown trout and rainbow trout can also be found there in adequate number.

Carps and pikes are rare. The area extends from approx. 500m above the Kotzenmühle at Seibersdorf to the national border of Burgenland at Wilfleinsdorf.

It is compulsory to have an official fishing- or guest license for Lower Austria.
