The river Große Erlauf comprises 4 fishing areas, beginning
with the area at Newbruck, downstream followed by the areas of Purgstall
I and II and our last area Erlauf Wieselburg.
The Erlauf is a typical river at the foothills of the Alps flowing
through a changing landscape of meadows, fields and gorge-like sections.
The length of these areas is about 27 km with an average width
of 20-30m. Excellent fish stock comprising brown trout, rainbow
trout and graylings guarantees happy fishing in unspoilt nature.
It is compulsory to have an official fishing- or guest license
for Lower Austria.
