The area of Donnersbach begins at the mouth of the Litzelsbach. Deeply cut in in bizarre rock formations this brook has caused erosions and cascades. Here, the brown trout prevails.

Above the village of Donnersbach there are several smoothly flowing water sections, the rainbow trout prevails.

Within the range of the village and downstream to the border of the fishing area near the former Falkenburg weir the river structure varies a lot; the grayling joins the two types of trout mentioned above.

It is compulsory to have an official fishing- or guest license for Styria.
