This area comprises the Danube above and below the power station
including the left- and right-hand banks of the old river arms to
the extent of 334 ha of water surface.
On account of its extended back water regions whose maintenance
is extremely expensive, this area represents a special section of
the Austrian part of the Danube with a big variety of fish. Every
fisherman must be aware of the fact that it is not a breeding water
where he is fishing, the fish must be worked for hard. However,
it is Wallsee offering a great chance to catch the fish of your
life, as the big fish is confronted here with ideal biological conditions.
Every year many a giant pike, pikeperch, wels or carp can be caught
here at Wallsee as well as all kinds of salmonids and all other
types of Danube fish in addition. Being persistent, skilful and
flexible, you may be lucky to catch the fish you have been dreaming
of, here in this area.
It is compulsory to have an official fishing-or guest license for
Lower Austria and Upper Austria. |
