Grimsing is a classical Danube area with an extent of 80 ha,
5,2 km in length, about 28 ha of it being back water area and 52
ha free flowing water with ample structuring and excellent fish
stock. The area begins at the bridge across the Danube below Melk
and ends near Aggsbach – Markt (marked by respective boards).
For the time being, the area of Aggsbach left-hand bank is added
to this area for co-management until further notice. The number
of fish corresponds to the Danube fish stock with carps and pikes
being maintained by stocking.
As far as possible, only wild carps are being stocked, up to a
maximum of 2-sö – (2 summers` age). The reproduction
of pike perches in this area is still satisfactory and therefore
the latter need no stocking! The number of licenses granted is strictly
limited. Guest day licenses for members are available from June
1st to October 31st. From October 15th especially tough guys are
able to obtain a day license for Danube salmons valid for all Danube
areas, fishing in back water, however, excepted.
It is compulsory to have an official fishing- or guest license
for the federal province of Lower Austria. |
